Decadent & chocolatey- is there anything better? This Nutella Brown Butter French Toast is all of that plus more. The brown butter adds a nutty earthy flavor that helps even out the sweetness of the Nutella and syrup. The inspiration for this dish comes from a diner in Columbus, their Nutella French Toast was amazing and we ordered every time we went! This is the perfect breakfast/brunch for any special day!
(Thank you to Momables for the eggless french toast recipe)
Recipe: Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1 cup Milk
2 tablespoons of Corn Starch
2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
8 slices of Bread (thicker the better- we used Brioche)
Nutella
Butter or PAM for the pan
1/4 cup Butter
Method:
1. In a bowl mix together the milk, corn starch, vanilla extract and cinnamon.
2. Start warm up a pan with a little butter or PAM.
3. Spread Nutella on two slices of bread and put them together like a sandwich. Then dip each side of the Nutella sandwich in the dipping milk mixture for no more than 5 seconds.
4. Then cook each side of the Nutella sandwich on the pan until golden brown.
5. In a separate pan start heating up the butter. Stir constantly! The butter will start to bubble and once the bubbles start to fade the butter will turn a golden brown color. Turn it off right away or it will burn.
Top the Nutella French Toast with the browned butter and syrup! Enjoy!!
